The Scarsdale Baseball Club (SBC) is a non-profit, community-based organization focused on the development and cultivation of Scarsdale High School baseball players in 9th-12th grades through a rigorous, consistent, multi-season program of clinics, drills
During the Summer season, the SBC fields travel teams that compete in the Westchester Baseball Association and play many different area town and select travel teams. Approximately 40 - 50 players in, or going into, 9th to 12th grades participate in the 8 - 9 week summer program. Depending on registration, we organize 14u and 16u teams, and in some years an 18u team.
Practice starts just as school is winding down and games begin right around SHS graduation week. There are generally two to four events (games and practices) per week. Each week varies but usually can consists of one or two week night games, as well as occassional weekend games (usually one double header on Saturday or Sunday). Games and practices are scheduled depending on player and field availability. We may even participate in some local tournaments.
Each team will typically play between 15 and 25 games through the summer. Given that many area teams do not have field availability during the summer, many of our games are played right here in Scarsdale on SHS Dean Field and the Crossway fields.
Since many people like to take off a few weeks of the summer, the SBC has a flexible registration policy that allows players to select the specific weeks they are available to participate and only pay for those calendar weeks (Mon - Sun) with a minimum commitment of 4 calendar weeks.
